I lead the Space Exploration Merit Badge for my district. Other than when we have merit badge fairs, with limited time and resources, I use these bulk packs. I always have some handy. Even though I let the scouts buy and bring their own rocket kit, I find that we will need another to complete the requirements. If they forget one, I have one of these handy. This is a great kit because it covers all the parts I expect for the badge. It also performs great regardless of the fin patterns chosen. I even have a video for this kit assembly on youtube to help other scouts and leaders.

With the 40% off one item coupon, this set is a steal at Hobby Lobby and comes in at right around $3 per rocket. Same goes for the classroom bulk pack of 24 A8-3 engines which comes out to $1.70/engine with the 40% off coupon.

A few weeks ago my nephew took a rocket building class with 4H. This prompted his mother to suggest he talk to me about rockets. I had many hours of fun with Estates rockets as a kid both flying them for fun and showing them in 4H. After talking to my nephew I decided it was time for me to get back into model rockets again. I went to Hobby Lobby to look at what they had to offer. I found the Viking bulk pack and was very happy with the price, remembering that lost rockets are a fact of life I wanted to get more than one to start. When I saw that I could get the bulk pack with a coupon at Hobby Lobby for less than $4 per rocket I knew I was on my way. Two weekends ago my nephew, my oldest daughter and I put together all 12 rockets in the bulk pack. We flew them yesterday. 24 flights all worked perfect and and were recovered and are ready to fly again. I picked up another bulk pack of engines today so we are ready for more flights. I am having so much fun building and flying rockets again and it is great to see how excited my daughters and nephew are as well.
I think the bulk pack is a great way to start, it is a lot of rockets for the money.

I bought a set of these rockets because I got tired of losing my more expensive ones going for the high flights. For each family event I assemble one and paint it flat black. First flight is with a C6-7 and so far we haven't retrieved any of them. They go to Rocket Heaven each time.

Got this pack for my boy scouts. The boys had a ball building this rock all together. I on the other hand will not try teaching 13 boys to build rockets all at one time again. LOL Every boy had a diferent fin set up which made each rocket unique.

This rocket is great to use in the classroom to allow students to design their own rockets and apply concepts taught.

I have one of these. I am in BoyScouts and I took the Rocketry Merit Badge in a Merit Badge Clinic. We got to build these and shoot them off. It is cheap, easy to build, and use. I love it.
