Tons of Fun
- Very minor assembly!
- Cool swirled plastic colors!
- Just Arrived!
Assembly: Almost too easy to assemble. Clip the fins into place, string up the parachute and retention strap, fit a motor into the tail and screw it closed and it's ready.
Good size, feels solid...not a lightweight. Considered peeling off the decals to make it a bit cleaner and lighter, but not yet. Maybe. That said, it is a nice-looking creation; the fluted nose cone is an interesting touch.
Flight: Late afternoon, temps in the mid-70s, scattered high clouds, moderate humidity, occasional breezes. Soccer field. Per instructions on first flight, used A8-3 motors.
Set up, clipped in an igniter, back into launch position. Local dragonflies flying chase.
Three, two, one, launch.
Thought process: YES!...okay, nice, straight, good climb...hmm...yeah, this thing can definitely use some more motor.
Chute popped and uncoiled in textbook manner. Good flight.
Reloaded with another A8-3 and did it again. Identical flight profile: good launch, stable if not shatteringly fast climb, chute deployment at apogee and return to earth.
Summary: Good simple rocket that can be assembled by anyone. Not an ultra-high-performance flyer, but still reliable fun and gives the impression of durability. The A8-3s are necessary as test motors, but I'll be moving up to more powerful ones for the next flights.

I saw this at the store and decided to pick it up. GREAT rocket for the price and easy to assemble (did it in the car). Overall, great starter rocket.
