Still a great idea Review by Bill

I logged a lot of flights with the original Bail Out back when my son was a pre-schooler. That rocket is beaten and bruised, but is still in flying shape. The Freefall that replaced it is a huge hit with the kids, who have seemingly boundless energy for chasing things. Having them chase after the army man is a big improvement over having them chase after the rockets. The army men are far more durable when stampeded by little feet.

Great small-field flyer Review by Mark

FreeFall is the spiritual successor to the Bail-Out of my youth, sacrificing a bit of body tube length for a longer nose cone compared to the original. Goes together quickly and makes for great launches on small fields with a B6-4. The B6-2 might be a better motor choice since mine ejected well past apogee. My only construction tip is to be careful with the alignment of the fin unit when gluing it in; I had to give my fins a bit of a twist so there wasn't interference with the launch rod.

Big Hit Review by Anthony

I bought this for my son this year for Xmas, specifically because of the little guy that's included. This is your standard E2X rocket, but with a really cool addition of a little orange plastic paratrooper. The little guy has a closed hook on his helmet that uses the same kind of chute the rockets do.

We haven't built an E2X in a while and I didn't realize this needs the thinner launch rod (1/8"). Since I lost mine and only have the 3/16" rod, we weren't able to launch ours today after building it, but like all Estes Rockets, it's solidly built and I'm sure will fly great.

Well worth picking this one up, if for nothing else, the really cool parachute guy that get's ejected during "re-entry".

fun for the kids Review by Paul

This is a great rocket for the kids that includes a small guy with a parachute that comes out also. gives the kids do things the chase in the field. We named our guy buzz. just make sure you pack it right so he doesn’t get tangled up in the main parachute

Great rocket but a few tips Review by swamp

Great rocket but a few tips.
1. Ensure you always follow the directions and put the man in before u pack the rocket chute.
2. Ensure when glueing in the rocket motor holder that it doesnt move

first launch went awesome but the small cardboard rings i had glued came loose and the motor melted the plastic fin bottom piece. I used a ton of glue too so ensure you put plenty.

Cool Rocket, Cool Gimmick Review by Apalm

I picked this rocket up recently, mostly because the gimmick (a parachute man) looked really cool. I used to play with those toy soldiers with the parachutes on them by throwing them off of the staircase, so the idea of dropping them off of a 500 ft staircase really appealed to me. Thankfully, it worked really well! The guy popped out of the rocket (which flew well and was very easy to build BTW) and floated down. Overall, I really liked this rocket, and I think others will too!
