Practically an E2X Review by Sebastian
I love this rocket! It was my first two stage, and it flies amazingly well. The fins are plastic, and it is built practically the same way as most of the E2X rockets are. Definitely a must-have if you want to start staging rockets, but aren't ready for the skill in the upper levels yet. (Posted on 4/28/12)
Great Review by KP
This rocket is a great build for beginners! This rocket also fly's great as a 2 or 1 stage! I give 5 Stars (Posted on 3/25/12)

My 8 yd old boy had a easy time building it but i should have bought a 2 stage motor. Mongoose will be missed. (Posted on 3/22/12)

Great and easy build! Review by Jcc
I got this as a gift, I finally got a chance to build it. It was a great and easy and fun build. It is my first two-stage rocket I can't wait to see what it does in the sky. If your looking for a first two-stage rocket to build go with this one!!!!

Fun Straight Flier, but... Review by David
I got this kit as a gift about a month and a half ago and finally got around to putting it together. The build was very easy but I do but I have one recommendation when it comes to the build (well two, but the second is based on the flight... see below). In places where you are mating plastic to cardboard (such as the fin can to a body tube) I recommend using epoxy instead of plastic cement. I went to remove the friction-fit upper stage engine after its first flight and the body tube separated from the fin can. Other than that the build process is very straightforward and if you've built anything form Estes before you will have no problems. The flight was absolutely phenomenal. I used a B6-0/B6-6 combination to get a feel for the flight. No issues with stage separation and it happened at an altitude where the booster stage was easy to track to the ground. The only snarl in what would have been one of the best two stage flights I've ever had from an Estes kit was the booster descent. The booster is stable and therefore doesn't tumble. Had it been summer with soft ground and nice long grass or hay it would have been a non-issue, but with frozen ground the body tube got crumpled a little (I give it a 50/50 chance of being repaired). Booster stage reinforcement would be recommended.

Do I recommend the kit overall? Yes. Just avoid parking lots or hard ground and kit should give you flight after flight of great enjoyment. (Posted on 2/12/12)
Great color combo Review by Robert
This is going to be my next purchase as I look for my kids to have a relatively easy experience on assembling a two stage rocket. Great color scheme! (Posted on 11/22/11)

It's like seeing an old friend after a face lift..... Review by Paul
A month ago, I was at the hobby shop and saw the Mongoose on the shelf. I said "Wow....that rocket looks familiar, like an old friend". Then when I got it home, it struck me. This rocket is a shout out to the old Scorpion that I used to fly when I was a kid. Great rocket, great to see this old design still flying high. (Posted on 8/22/11)
Easy to Build Review by James
My daughter built this rocket when she was 10 (with a little help from me). It is very easy to make a nice looking rocket without having to paint this kit. It flew great, but the booster fell straight down for some reason and got a crushed tube when it hit. It still flies as a single-stage rocket. (Posted on 8/4/11)
