Classic Review by Patrick
I first experienced this rocket in elementary school. The sheer size of it is awe inspiring to amateur rocket builders. The slow take off is exciting and to see such a bohemoth climb to incedible heights is spectacular. It's a skill level 1 rocket and is relatively easy to assemble. Definitely worth picking up this rocket whether you're a beginner of novice. (Posted on 12/10/11)
Great tradition! Review by Robert
This is what the tradition of model rocketry is all about. Bertha is a great rocket and the launch is a thing of beauty. Highly recommended for people taking their steps beyond E2X. I ordered this for my kids and they were stoked about the black color and tech-looking decals. Unfortunately, the new aesthtics (yellow) with simple decals were not to my liking but I took it as an opportunity to do my own styling - and it looks wickedly great! If you're building a fleet of rockets, this is a must-add! (Posted on 11/29/11)
My first rocket Review by BigE
I launched my Big Bertha in 1975 during school. My 5th grade teacher let us out to see the event. The entire school turned out to watch!! God I was so nervous. I'll never forget it even though it was over 35 years ago. I had mine painted up like a Polaris missile. Golly mercy it was so cool thinking back. I wonder if the other kids were counting down. I don't recall anything except focusing on my launch. I was 10 at the time and built the thing myself. The launch was perfect and before the shute popped everyone was cheering and patting me on the back. Here I am over 50 and thinking of doing it again. I haven't built a model or rocket in nearly 30 years but the urge is getting to me. (Posted on 10/20/11)
big bertha Review by Dean
This was my first rocket and im still launching it. Super simple to build and looks great in any color. When they say it can be built in an afternoon they really mean it. If you are searching for a simple rocket to start with this is the one. Also very little internal components to deal with so less of a chance of screwing up. This rocket is one of the best i have ever flown and would recomend it to anyone. (Posted on 10/4/11)
Fantastic! Review by Koa
The Big Bertha is a true classic. It's an easy build- only skill level 1. It looks sharp with any color spray paint (we chose red; we're out of black) and flies beautifully. I launched one in front of some 1st graders at the park and now they're hooked on rocketry. Love it! (Posted on 9/26/11)

The quintessential Estes rocket Review by Wayne
I have built the Big Bertha several times, as well as a number of the variants (Baby Bertha, Astron Ranger, Broadsword, Mini Bertha, Super Big Bertha). This rocket is a true classic. It flies low and slow, and is always a crowd-pleaser. (Posted on 9/5/11)
