This is an update to my previously tread. Now that the weather is nice I was able to try it outside and here is my impressions. Very easy to fly and great time of flight up to 12 minutes on a fully charged battery. This helicopter can go very high and same horizontally. It is better to not test it too high because coaxial helicopters are very sensible to wind and even if you are flying with a no wind situation up higher you can get involved into turbulences which can crash you heli. This helicopter dont like the wind so everything above 3 miles per hour wind will make the operation difficult. The rear rotor could use more power even in boost mode and if too windy with a head wind it will be very difficult to bring it back to you. The time for recharging is quite long but the time on the air compensate for this long charging time. In short a beautifull heli with a good size. Flying at night is quite a show to experience with all the flashing light. A must buy for your collection. (Posted on 4/5/13)
My first Helicopter and I also bought one for my dad for his birthday. It is pretty much uncontrollable in the wind and of course 2 hours charge time for 7 minutes of flight is also a downside. Other than the really short fly time those 7 minutes are AWESOME and I really do love flying it. (Posted on 9/18/12)
This is my first chopper and I love it! I learned to fly it after the 2nd or 3rd charge! Easy to control and a blast to fly! The only thing bad about it is you only get about 7 mins of flight time for 2 hrs of charge time.
Easy to fly. Very stable. Downside, 2 hours charge time for 7 minutes of flight. That needs some work there. Why not have it run on a simple 9 volt battery? Otherwise, great job Estes!!! (Posted on 9/1/12)
I like it so far, but you don't want to go to high because the forward motion does not work so well more than 20 feet up if there is any wind at all. Pretty easy to control for the most part. Nice to play with. One down point is that you can not replace the battery!!
I would suggest for a beginner to buy the chopper for sure,, I like it for the ease of the control. (Posted on 8/4/12)
