This rocket was a pleasure to put together from start to finish. I had it complete in a day. I haven't flown it yet so cant comment on that yet but I can bet it will soar... I would definitely build another one. Don't be fooled by the picture or the specs, this is a very large rocket! All I can suggest for the build is, As with most rockets, be very careful with the body connecting couplers. the glue can start to set up before it is fully inserted. I use gorilla glue which tends to tack fast. I suggest, sand the inner body tubes and the outer couplers for a loose fit. then, dry fit first. pull the coupler out no more than inch. apply just enough glue to coat ( I use Qtips ). Then repeat for the other side.
Fly safe and have fun... (Posted on 11/4/13)
This has been a great rocket from build to first launch. it is a very straightforward build with a very different and new fin attachement. The build can be completed in an afternoon, and is a beuty to watch fly. I did not buy the Maxi launch rod, but there seemed to be no ill effects. The rocket roared on the D12-3, and it was extremely loud!! There was a huge flame out the back, and it took off slowly, before increasing in speed to an approximate altitude of 450 ft. it drifted down on the huge 24" parachute before landing, completing a textbook flight on a nerverackingly windy day. Overall a great rocket!!! (Posted on 3/29/13)
